About Us

Indie Makers is owned and run by a couple from Leeds, Matthew & Yvonne (originally from York), who are passionate about supporting independent arts & crafts.

As well as making our own range of soy wax  candles and melts (the York Candle Company,  available in-store and on our website) we  moved to Leeds and set up shop in Leeds Corn  Exchange in March 2021, showcasing these as  well as other handpicked brands from high  quality artists and makers, focusing especially  on local talent.

Over time we have become something of a cult  destination if you're seeking fun and unique  handmade gifts from West Yorkshire and  sometimes a little bit beyond. We've loved every minute of it. Because we are passionate about the brands that we sell, it has been an absolute pleasure showing these to you, and we have loved being able to provide a retail opportunity for some truly incredible artists, many of whom have never been stocked in another physical retail shop before.

We have personally selected some of our favourite products to be displayed on our online shop, and will continue to add more as time continues. However, our full range is only available at our physical location, at Leeds Corn Exchange, Call Lane, LS1 7BR.
